BIOGRAPHY

Acclaimed as a "perfect Hansel" performing with "blustery bravado", mezzo-soprano Kristin Behrmann made her debut in Opera Omaha's production of Hansel & Gretel.    Most recently, Kristin sang the role of Siebel in Faust with Amore Opera. Past work includes Mercedes (Carmen) and Sesto (Giulio Cesare) with The Metropolitan Opera Guild/Sing Through Central, Tamara in Ben Moore's Enemies, A Love Story with Center for Contemporary Opera, Stephano (Roméo et Juliette) with Opera Santa Barbara's Young Artist Program. As a Young Artist with Opera Colorado, Kristin performed the title role in Rossini's Cinderella. Other roles include: Mrs. Page (Merry Wives of Windsor), Dorabella (Così fan Tutte), La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), and Tessa (The Gondoliers).  Kristin is a two-time winner of the Fé Bland Foundation Music Award, Santa Barbara Foundation.  In addition to her experience as a performing vocalist, Kristin has a strong orchestral background and has played the violin since age four.
